A Note on the Futility of Words

In the span of 60 days in early 2026, the United States conducted military strikes in three sovereign nations - Venezuela, Nigeria, and Iran - while maintaining the position that it stands for rules-based international order.

The International Court of Justice ordered Russia to cease military operations in Ukraine in March 2022. Four years later, Russia continues to bomb Ukrainian cities daily. The ICJ ordered Israel to prevent genocide in Gaza. Operations continued. The ICC issued arrest warrants. Nobody was arrested.

The UN General Assembly passed resolution after resolution. Each was ignored. The Security Council couldn't act because the aggressor held veto power - or the aggressor's ally did. The system designed to prevent wars became a stage for performative outrage.

Meanwhile, Oman's mediator announced a nuclear deal breakthrough with Iran on February 27th. On February 28th, the bombs started falling.

Strong countries do what they want. Weak countries suffer what they must. Everyone else condemns. Your condemnation has been added to the pile. Nothing changes. The tracker continues.
